Chipotle's first non-London UK store
This marks the American company’s first restaurant out side of the London district since arriving in Charing Cross 12 years ago.
The new location on Watford High Street is the group’s 12th site and is expected to generate 20 new job opportunities.
Such an expansion during uncertain economic times is a positive sign for the hospitality industry.
“We are thrilled to introduce our craveable Food with Integrity to the Watford community,” says Jacob Sumer, director of European operations.
“The new location will also bring additional career opportunities to these areas for residents interested in Cultivating a Better World through real food,” he said.
Chipotle specialises in burritos, tacos and bowls without any added artificial colours, flavours or preservatives.
As a part of their grand opening the company yeserday offered free hand-smashed guacamole with every order.
Chipotle currently has over 3,000 locations worldwide.
