Edukido’s roadshow gets it clients
Edukido has up until this year established franchise operations in Croatia and North Macedonia on top of the network it has established in Poland. In Hungary and Romania the company held trade events for potential franchisees which produced promising returns.
Hungary enters the network
Kamila Hołody from Edukido was very satisfied with the outcome. “In Hungary 20 potential franchisees attended its event and this led to the signing up of one franchisee in a town close to Budapest. There are also two more potential franchisees in the capital city of Budapest.”
However, Hołody pointed to there being barriers to overcome. She felt these were knowledge and language based. “We found that the level of awareness of the franchise business in Hungary was still a bit low and also found that some of the clients lacked confidence to communicate in English, which would be a problem for working in our network.”
Balkan travels
In respect of Romania Kamila Hołody reported that even though the numbers attending were lower it looks as if Edukido have found a potential master franchisee who wants to expand an existing education business.
The Edukido expansion in the Balkans is likely soon to embrace Serbia. “It's the kind of country that is manageable in size for a master franchise”, she feels revealing that there has been interest online in the franchise and at least one candidate is in play. Hołody added that Edukido wants to send a mission to Bulgaria soon to identify potential candidates.
Expanding fast
She says that the company is very pleased with the results it has obtained since it started its international expansion in 2021.It is already well established in Croatia and has a master franchise in North Macedonia The company has already established two more franchised outlets in Croatia and is likely to have yet two more. In North Macedonia a new outlet is being opened in the city of Veles. “If you add together the four new outlets we have established in Poland this year with the two new ones in Croatia, one in North Macedonia and one in Hungary we have already expanded by eight outlets, and that is in the first half of the year only.”
Edukido is an original lego based learning by playing program for kids aged 3-12. It relies on regular sessions in which children acquire awareness of nature, technology and science through play. It also organizes workshops in schools and playschools, residential trips focused on particular topics and birthday parties.
The objective of the Edukido methodology is to stimulate thought processes and inquisitiveness to break down artificial barriers between humanities and sciences. Through its 350 different exercise scenarios children work in teams to expand their spatial awareness and learning skills so that they can solve problems.
The company operates a flat rate franchise fee structure. The franchisee also gets exclusivity in the geographical area of their operation and, if they purchase a master franchise, they can spread the business to other areas and make money from those sub-franchises. In addition to the exercise scenarios the company also has scenarios for birthday parties which are both a useful marketing tool and money earner.
