What does your company do and what makes your franchise unique?

Scientific Kitchen is an innovative educational franchise that introduces young children aged 5 to 8 to the fascinating world of science through hands-on learning. Our programs cover the fundamentals of chemistry, physics, and biology, carefully designed to match the developmental needs of early childhood.

What truly sets Scientific Kitchen apart is our focus on scientific literacy during the most critical period of cognitive development. Through interactive experiments, play-based learning, and guided exploration, we nurture children's curiosity, concentration, problem-solving abilities, and love for discovery. Our approach transforms complex scientific concepts into exciting, memorable experiences, laying a strong foundation for lifelong learning and interest in science.

Where can your franchises be found around the world?

Scientific Kitchen has an established and growing franchise network. In Serbia, our programs are successfully implemented in seven cities: Belgrade, Niš, Novi Sad, Smederevo, Požarevac, Kragujevac, and Užice.
Internationally, our franchise operates in Croatia (Zagreb), North Macedonia, and Germany (Offenbach), demonstrating the adaptability and global potential of our educational model across different markets and cultures.

How does one become a franchisee?

The process of becoming a franchisee is standardized and applies equally to both single-unit and master franchisees. The first step is to check the availability of the franchise for the desired territory, as our franchise system operates on the principle of "one city – one franchise unit" for cities with up to 100,000 inhabitants.
If the territory is available, the candidate submits a franchise inquiry, initiating the first contact. This is followed by an exchange of basic information about both the franchise system and the candidate. The candidate is then asked to prepare an initial concept or plan outlining how they would implement Scientific kitchenette in their chosen territory.
If the plan demonstrates potential, the process continues with more detailed discussions and meetings. The next step is signing a non-disclosure agreement, which allows the candidate to review the franchise agreement. Once the contractual terms are mutually agreed upon, the agreement is signed and the candidate officially becomes a franchisee.
This is followed by the implementation phase, which lasts until the franchise unit is fully established and operational.

What financial commitment is required to join your franchise network?

The initial franchise fee ranges from EUR 5,000 to EUR 20,000, depending on the size of the territorial unit covered by the franchise agreement.
Space setup and furnishing (custom furniture, branding, interior setup, etc.) typically requires an investment of approximately EUR 2,000 to EUR 3,500.
The purchase of laboratory instruments, utensils, chemicals, and accompanying equipment amounts to around EUR 1,000.
The total expected investment therefore ranges between EUR 8,000 and EUR 25,000, depending on the size of the territory and the format of the unit (e.g. one or two classrooms/laboratories).

5. What are the ongoing fees associated with owning a franchise?

There is one mandatory ongoing fee payable to the franchisor, calculated as 10% of total gross turnover.
All other costs related to marketing activities, joint campaigns, or participation in events are optional and apply only to franchisees who choose to take part in these initiatives.

How does the company support new franchisees in getting started?

Scientific kitchenette provides comprehensive, multi-level support to new franchisees, including:

  • Knowledge transfer through training programs and licensing of teaching staff, along with access to complete educational curricula.

  • Assistance in selecting a suitable location and premises, including guidance on space layout and functionality.

  • Support in interior setup and visual identity development, from furniture design plans to branding implementation.

  • Marketing support through ready-to-use materials for traditional and digital marketing, as well as the transfer of best promotional practices.

  • Clear specifications for sourcing raw materials, laboratory equipment, and consumables required for high-quality educational delivery.

What revenue potential can franchisees expect?

It is difficult to predict revenue in absolute terms, as both income and expenses vary depending on the market and the size of the franchise unit. However, based on practical experience, more successful franchise units are able to recover their initial investment within six months to one year after the business unit becomes operational (counted from the opening date, not from the contract signing).

What are the main responsibilities of franchisees?

Each franchisee is required to strictly comply with the provisions of the franchise agreement, which clearly defines all rights and obligations. In addition, franchisees must adhere to all safety protocols related to conducting scientific experiments, as precisely defined in the educational curricula.

Are there any future plans or expansions?

Yes. We are currently present in Serbia, Croatia, and North Macedonia, and we have also launched a unit in Germany. Our programs are available in Serbian, Croatian, Macedonian, German, and English.
Our strategic goal is to partner with high-quality franchisees across European Union markets. The disciplines and methodologies we apply are universal and standardized across all markets, which gives us confidence that, with carefully selected partners, future franchise development will be mutually successful for both franchisor and franchisees.

Do you plan to expand in Poland?

Yes, absolutely. Entering the Polish franchise market represents an exciting challenge for us. Poland is one of the most developed franchise markets in Europe, and establishing a presence there would be a significant and important step in the further development of our franchise system.
