Fancy a Quickwash?
The simple aim of Quickwash is to provide customers with a high-quality, pleasant and affordable service. At their business points, you can wash bulky items such as blankets and pillows – that you can’t wash at home. These professional industrial standard machines are set-up for easy and effective use.
For the owners and would-be owners of a Quickwash franchise, the business concept aims to minimalize personal costs while removing bad debts at the same time. Customers pay on-the-spot in store – putting coins directly into their pockets.
Quickwash opened their first laundromat in Ostrava city centre in May 2014. After thousands of cycles, the company reinvested into their own brand and by 2016 the company had already set-up six successful branches.
Franchisee’s don’t need any special qualifications to open a self-service laundry. However, they must have the capital and show a willingness to be proactive in business for the company and for the customers. In return, Quickwash will set you up with all the training and tools for success that has seen the company grow from a single pilot store in 2014, to having a network of 20 across the Czech Republic in 7 years (keep in mind, 2 years of which were during a global pandemic).
Despite the obvious turndown in business which saw Quickwash revenues fall by up to as much as 40-90% during the toughest months of the pandemic, where stores were forced to close, Quickwash concept owner Tomáš Drga still managed to open two new establishments in both Mariánské Lázně and Frýdek-Místek.
The number of franchise points is expected to expand this year as well. Currently, the licensor is in contact with several interested parties and hopes to open two more points by the end of the year. The franchisor admits, the interest from potential parties is currently lower than it was before the pandemic. The reason being people today are far more cautious with their service business plans and tend to wait for the situation to improve.
“I still see potential in our market, although the pace of expansion of our network is likely to slow this year and next. In my opinion, the potential is shifting from metropolitan areas to smaller cities, especially those located in tourist-attractive areas,” said Drga. “Paradoxically,” he added, “the crisis has also helped us to develop some new activities. For example, we launched a new service ‘Laundry with import’ and we created a new website-laundry-on-line. This service currently operates in Prague, Ostrava and Pilsen.”
